No Mess, No Fuss, just pure Impact! Authentische Vertreter einer "New Breed" traditioneller Oi!

No Mess, No Fuss, just pure Impact! BOOZE & GLORY come up with their second full lenght which is also their debut for Contra Records.
Anybody who was into the Oi! & Streetpunk scene during the last few years took notice of these amazing band. Authentic representives of a "New Breed" of traditional Oi! Bands without unnecessary metal influences, Bands who don't give a fuck about the so-called Mainstream, Bands who did not sell their soul for a handful shows and doubtful fame by opening theirselves to all sides. Those 4 Skinheads from London (3 of them with polish roots) just keep on the good work which the've started on their "Always on the wrong Side" Album a year
ago: Straight forward Oi! Music with terrace chants & sing-a-longs just like their heroes like the COCKNEY REJECTS, THE 4 SKINS or SHAM
69 did back in the days. The new Record deals with the typical Working Class themes, they donate another hymn to their favourite team West Ham United and they sing about the sad status of the british operations into the middle-east Wars. With "Trouble Free" BOOZE & GLORY just made their way into the Champions League of Oi!

+++ Pressestimmen +++
In general, the "Skinhead way of life" isn't my cup of tea at all. Skinhead mentality, attitude, philosophy, aesthetic and culture are totally unknown to me. Besides, contrary to some people, I don't advocate unity between skins and punks, 'cos I feel so different and grown away from skinheads that I don't believe in it a single second... Nevertheless, I must admit OI! music is a bridge between those two worlds, and that sometimes it can bring us together. There are some punk OI! bands (nowadays we call this "Streetpunk"), there are some OI! bands that feature both some punk and some skinhead members, and there is also the purely skinhead OI! music, although its roots come from Punk Rock. BOOZE & GLORY belong to this third category : they are actually a skinhead OI! band. "Trouble free" is the 2nd album from these Londoners, and it offers us 12 songs of fast, powerful and melodic OI! with a strong Punk rock touch, full of singalong choirs, completed on this CD version by 4 bonus tracks, including two covers from polish band HORRORSHOW, so 16 tracks in total. Very effective in this style, and I'm not so surprised to learn that BOOZE & GLORY is is more and more a famous and regognized name within this scene. Moreover, the production is of an high quality, as usual with Step & Music, and the record comes with a 12 page booklet featuring the lyrics and some pictures. Recommended to all those who are into the skinhead/"working class" stuff and so on.

Booze and Glory - Trouble Free
After the debut album of this English-Polish band called Always on the Wrong Side whic threw them into elite of European Oi!/streetpunku were released few split EP´s (with The Warriors and Harrington Saints) and now you can enjoy their second full length release with 12 new songs, 2 bonuses from singles (We´re the Boys and Swinging Fuckin´ Hammers) and 2 bonuses from Polish band Horror Show with the vocals from Booze and Glory lads (Alex Go! and Online Generation). Band is four piece but they have two guitars. The band sound is from the melodic barrel of streetpunk/oi! so if you like Dropkick Murphys (like the song Trouble Free with banjo or mandolin) or The Agitators which are the closest in description of Booze and Glory sound. First song starts with intro - tuning of skinhead reggae radio and from the refrain you´ll know that passion of the band is football, reggae and skinhead fashion. Other songs which I will like to speak about are surely Trouble Free about the life on the wrong side of the barred window, Never Returned is about young boy who joined the army but from the war he returned as a different empty man, Hooligan which is about the fact that in eyes of the family of your girl you can be hooligan and thug but you are hooligan and thug who stand at the side of the girl even it is wrong on right and she will waits on you when you end in the place described in Trouble Free song. In this way I can speak about every song because it is really flawless so I will choose some... Plastic Skinheads (about the guys who are stuck in 1969 even when they didn´t remember it...surely know someone like that), Weekend in Karlskrona (about the great weekend in Sweden), Come on You Irons! and Swinging Fuckin´ Hammers (guess what are they about) or Until the End. Common denominator is easy remembered melodies and singalong refrains done by the whole band. Booklet is also flawless with lyrics and detailed photos of band members in some brick street and great collage of photos in the middle with thankslist. Another point (or full points) for current British scene. If you like more vinyl then CD, wait till July...it will be out on Contra Records.
