I always try to be reticent with giving records a maximum ranking, but this record ís good! I already liked their debute EP, but the band greatly improved since those recordings. Great streetpunk packed full with energy, emotion, agression, honesty, melody and sing-a-long chorusses. Comes in beautifull gatefold cover with splatter vinly. The year is still young, but Noi!se just delivered one the best records of 2011, no doubt about it!

Noi!se is an outstanding band in the US Oi! scene. They play catchy and speedy music and they actually have something worth to say. No song about mindless violence, proclaimed pride, or pro-American politic. Instead, they bring up positive minded thoughts, self-esteem and self-respect just a name of a few. Many of the songs are bittersweet for me, but all mature and real! Definitely the song writing skill is one of the strongest skills of this band!
I wish Matt, the lead singer and Nate the other vocalist could improve their voices to make more powerful their music and Noise could be one of my top band!
The artwork of this gatefold 10”and the insert are amazing as the debut 7” was! Well worth to purchase this record as soon as you can!

Mit Noi!se hat meiner Ansicht nach eine neue Ära im amerikanischen Oi!/Streetpunk Sektor begonnen. Selten hat es eine Band geschafft, sich so schnell in meine Favoritenliste zu spielen. Noi!se sind eine Band der Art „kann man immer auflegen“. Matt´s Stimme, der treibende Sound, die Band lebt einfach!Keine Ahnung, was sie anders als 1000 andere Bands machen, aber sie stechen sehr deutlich aus der Masse heraus. Wahrscheinlich liegt es an den Leuten selbst, sie versprühen einfach einen guten Spirit (Aura würde in diesem Zusammenhang lächerlich klingen, oder?). Noi!se könnten ruhig bei den nächsten Präsidentenwahlen kandidieren. Ein Coversong von Cock Sparrer ist Ehrensache! Und geil!
Die 4 Lieder auf ihrer 7“ „Walk beside us“ haben mir im letzten Jahr schon außerordentlich gut gefallen. Sehr rauer, dennoch melodischer amerikanischer Streetpunk im Stile von Pressure Point oder Bonecrusher, mit einem atemberaubend guten Sänger!
Kein Wunder, dass mich die Nachricht vom Erscheinen ihrer neuen 10“ „This is who we are“ ganz wuschig machte.
Zu recht! Denn die 7 Nummern sind noch mal eine deutliche Steigerung zur EP. Schon der Opener „Living for today“ sorgt für Gänsehaut Feeling und so geht es einem noch so manches Mal auf dieser Platte. Einige Songs haben einfach eine etwas düstere Grundstimmung, klingen irgendwie leicht melancholisch, auf der anderen Seite auch umso aggressiver und mächtig angepisst.
Dreimal unterstrichen wird dieser Eindruck durch die wirklich herausragende Stimme von Sänger Matt.
Zu allem Überfluss lässt auch noch die Aufmachung keine Wünsche offen: Klappcover, farbiges Vinyl, …sehr beeindruckende Veröffentlichung!

Noi!se - This Is Who We Are

Noi!se is the band which was founded by Matt from the broke up Aires and Graces. Other members came from bands like Shield your Eyes, Whiskey Dicks and Forced Life which I didn´t hear about. They came from Tacoma city from Washington. 10 ´´ which was released due to the cooperation between Contra, Durty Mick and Longshot contains 7 songs (one of them is notoriously well known cover from Cock Sparrer – Take´em All). Others are Living for Today, Brothers in Arms, Warrior Down, This Is Who We Are, On the Outside and What Happened to the Kids?. Last two you may know from Aires and Graces EP from 2009 (What Happened to the Kids? was also on the demo from 2010). LP is black/blue splattered in gatefold cover with lyrics and photos of band members plus also paper with many photos and thankslist (including mane great US bands). Design is made again by Jen and Muna…so it means high quality guaranteed. Band has four members but two guitars...and the vocals are made by guitarist Nate and bassist Matt. The first song Living for Today has great refrain and it is about memories of older people in scene when they see the younger. They remind them themselves growing up. Another good one is This is Who We Are about the fact that we refuse to be a victims of other people who doesn´t like us and we want to stand up against them. Most of all I like the last one called What Happened to the Kids which is about youngsters who are losing respect to older ones who have to fight for their place and no just watch internet for one day and second day giving advices to other...it isn´t about the clothes but about the feeling inside. Music is faster but calmer and melancholic (some songs are similar to Badlands) and only one think which I want to point out is inexpressive vocal which is sometimes sunk between other sounds. So....Noi!se are playing great musc (but you have to have a mood on them) with intelligent lyrics. Add great cover and nice LP and you will receive great piece to your collection! One of the best new breed bands from USA!
